Sold Out. John Mayer Guitar Strap Deadstock
SOLD OUT. A personal tribute to Mayer, who’s deep musical friendship with Bob Weir gives us so much to be Grateful for…
In 2011, we crafted a small collection of guitar straps that fell into Mayer’s hands that same year during the Born & Raised live recordings. This particular Deadstock braided strap showed up on the B&R Tour in 2013 along with his blonde ’52 Fender Tele. The guitar & strap both soon disappeared for a good minute…until nearly ten years later when the infamous Tele was busted back out on Dead & Co Summer Tour ’22. And sure enough the strap took the Long Strange Trip along with the guitar. Check out the photo gallery for the story in images.
We’ve been collecting these Deadstock textiles for nearly 30 years, repurposing them into small batch goods. The right time to cut/sew always seems to reveal itself. This was that time. So we dug through our vintage braid collection & managed to find the same roll that we cut John’s original guitar strap from. We fired up the sewing machine & started stitching. We’re super stoked to offer this limited batch of hats. Hot off the stitchery & ready to ship today. Grab a piece of American music history while the vintage supply lasts.
This jacquard was woven in the late 1960’s and has been extremely well cared for over the last 50+ years. It remains in perfect Mint condition. It is the ultra rare 2 inch width characterized by geometric center ovals & classic wide arrow edge work. A very rare pattern, and color.
Locally sewn. 13 point bolt crafted with merrowed edge.
Snapback. One size fits most.
Thank you John…
