Here’s the backstory…In 2011 we crafted a collection of Guitar Straps that quickly fell into Mayer’s hands, immediately showing up on the Born & Raised live studio sessions and ensuing Tour attached to John’s C.F. Martin Double Aught Acoustic. Check out the photo gallery for a shot of John playing live with this Guitar Strap, also a group shot of the collection.

We recently dug through our vintage fabric treasure chest & found the same exact roll of woven jacquard that we cut John’s original guitar strap from. We grabbed the scissors & fired up the sewing machine.

Originally woven circa 1974 for The Ace Guitar Strap Company then left for Dead, this jacquard has been well preserved for the last 50+ years & remains in pristine condition. It features the original Hootenanny pattern, which has woven its way through Folk culture for generations, passing down the magic & wisdom of poetry, storytelling, music & all the mystique in between.
