6/5/25. Limited Deadstock Hootenanny Release. It’s Mayer time! Small batch straight off our sewing machine & ready to ship. A personal tribute to Mayer, who’s deep musical friendship with Bobby & The Boys gives us so much to be Grateful for. Here’s the backstory…

In 2011 we crafted a collection of Guitar Straps that quickly fell into Mayer’s hands, immediately showing up on the Born & Raised live studio sessions and Tour, attached to John’s C.F. Martin Acoustic. Check out the photo gallery for a shot of John playing live with this Guitar Strap, also a group shot of the full collection.

It became high time to shine light once again on this mystical musical story, so we dug through our vintage fabric treasure chest & found the same exact roll of woven jacquard that we cut John’s original guitar strap from. We grabbed the scissors & fired up the sewing machine.

Originally woven circa 1974 for The Ace Guitar Strap Company then left for Dead, this jacquard has been well preserved for 50+ years & remains in pristine condition. It features the original Hootenanny pattern, which has woven its way through Folk culture for generations, helping to pass down the magic & wisdom of storytelling through poetry, art, music & all the mystique in between.

Collecting vintage textiles has been a lifelong passion of ours. We take great pride in repurposing Deadstock fabrics into small batch goods & are stoked to offer this new Chapter of the John Mayer Deadstock Hat.
